My collection of short stories. I love the genre of magic realism, and that shows here, particularly in “The Magic Cave” and “The Farm”. “New Girlfriend” is a short and dark story that (I think) rewards a second reading. And “Together” was partly inspired by my walking trip to Turkey, and by events that were happening in the world at the time. “The Farm” is the one I am most happy with, so I would start there, and “The Magic Cave” was an early unpolished attempt, so don’t judge me too harshly by that one.
Fourteen year old Kiera is frustrated with the old men in her argumentative little village. She wanders off into the nearby mountains where she discovers a magic cave that whispers back to her in her own voice.
A retelling of the biblical story of Adam and Eve, imagining humanity's descent from paradise in a new light.
A young man leaves his troubles behind to hike in the wilderness only to find that cataclysmic events unfold in the world whilst he is disconnected. A musing on love, loneliness, pain and war.
A lonely man finds love...
